r/Affiliatemarketing rules (8)

  1. 1
    Karma Minimum

Users must have at least 250 karma to post in this subreddit. Also, you must become a member of the sub to post or comment. See rule number 6.

  2. 2
You must join the sub to post or comment

In order to cut down on spam and scammers, you must become a member of the sub to post or comment. Many people seem to come to the sub to TAKE rather than give. We often get people posting listicles or guides or making claims of income, but if they were the experts they claim to be, they would be members of the sub. To post or comment, please click the join button before posting. The only requirement is you must have 250 karma to join. This, once again, is to foil the bots.

  3. 3
    Affiliate offers and Tools

No unsolicited advertising of affiliate programs. Use the sticky thread, *POST YOUR OFFER IN THE STICKY THREAD AS A COMMENT. *TAG IT WITH THE AFFILIATE OFFER FLAIR. *MUST CONTAIN A BRIEF DESCRIPTION AND LINK BOTH TO THE INFORMATION PAGE AND THE SIGN UP PAGE. *MUST BE A SPECIFIC OFFER. (NO LINKS TO THE HOMEPAGE OF CLICKBANK OR JVZOO OR SIMILAIR NETWORK. MUST LINK TO A SPECIFIC PRODUCT OR OPPORTUNITY) All offers that violate this will be removed and the user banned.

  4. 4
Linking with referral tags (Spamming #1)

Linking with referral tags and tracking codes is prohibited.

  5. 5
Inserting links in comments (Spamming #2)

-We will remove blatant attempts to farm backlinks or affiliate links and links where we cannot tell if there is a tracking code. -Links to websites or blogs containing a sales page/sign-up will be removed. -Links to "Guru's" or high priced coaching programs will be removed. (and the community will hate you;) -Links to tools/offers must be in the sticky thread for offers. Want to recommend something as part of a discussion? Great. Use the name of th, not the link.

  6. 6
Selling to the Community (Spamming #3)

Don't spam. Your post will be removed if you are trying to make a buck off the community. Outside of the affiliate and tool thread, you cannot get customers within the sub.

  7. 7
AMA - Ask Me Anything & Polls

You may NOT host an AMA or poll post without prior MOD approval. Failure to gain prior mod approval is an automatic lifetime ban. Do. Not. Do. It. When in doubt reach out through modmail! No AMA nor polls posted without prior mod approval.

  8. 8
    ChatGPT/AI Posts

Do not post AI written guides or how to posts. No 100 sources of (whatever). We get 100 of those posts daily. We have to remove them and ban you. Everyone here knows what they are and flags them.

What to know before posting in r/Affiliatemarketing

r/Affiliatemarketing is more permissive than other marketing subs, given that the entire community is built around affiliate promotion. That said, mods remove obvious recruitment posts for MLM-style programs and anything resembling a 'sign up under me' funnel. Tool recommendations, network reviews, and tactical breakdowns are welcomed. Common removal reasons: undisclosed affiliate links pretending to be neutral recommendations, and posts farming for downline recruits.

This commentary is based on observed moderation patterns and community behavior — the authoritative rules are the numbered list above, pulled directly from r/Affiliatemarketing's moderators. Have questions about how rules work across Reddit? See the main tool page for FAQs.
